JCSU Tennis Drops Livingstone, 7-2

Salisbury, N.C. (March 15, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith women's tennis team took five of six singles matches to down CIAA foe Livingstone on Sunday afternoon.

At No. 2 singles, Rankin Anderson (Decatur, Ga.) took a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Tenesha Dickerson. JCSU would sweep the remaining singles matches at Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6, all by a 6-0, 6-0 count.

In doubles competition, JCSU took the #2 and #3 matches, each by an 8-0 count.  Khadijah Battle (Atlanta, Ga.) and teammate Victoria Ogundipe (Jonesboro, Ga.) won 8-0 over Ceara Gillis and Sarah Haynes at No. 2 while Kaylin Roman (Atlanta, Ga.) and Michaela Colvin (Fayetteville, N.C.) downed Shontell McMillian and Aailyah Tucker also by an 8-0 count.

With the win, JCSU improves to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in CIAA play.  The Golden Bulls will hit the courts again on Tuesday, March 17 for a 2:00 p.m. match at Winston-Salem State.
