Women's Tennis Takes Two Weekend Road Matches

Charlotte, N.C. (March 23, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith women's tennis team picked up two CIAA wins against Bowie State and Virginia Union in Richmond, Va. JCSU has now won four straight matches and improves to 4-3 in league play, 5-7 overall.
After dropping the No. 1 singles match against Bowie State, JCSU won the remaining singles and two of three doubles matches to take the 7-2 win.
Rankin Anderson (Decatur, Ga.) continued her strong play, winning 7-5, 6-4 over Dainese Smothers. Khadijah Battle (Atlanta, Ga.) also won her match at No 3 singles convincingly over Antonique Johnson, 6-1, 6-2.
Against Virginia Union, JCSU won the Nos. 2-6 singles matches, all by 6-0, 6-0 scores. In the doubles matches the Golden Bulls swept all three for the 8-1 match win.
