Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 4, 2015) – The JCSU volleyball team will open the 2015 season on Friday afternoon when they take on the host Pfeiffer Falcons at the Falcon Classic in Misenheimer, N.C. at 1:00 p.m.

JCSU welcomes three returning players from the 2014 team that finished 11-14 and advanced to the CIAA Tournament.  Senior Salesse Stovall (Roanoke, Va.), senior Khadijah Segura (Minneapolis, Minn.) and 2014 All-CIAA selection Gracyn Doctor (Charleston, S.C.). lead the way for the Golden Bulls.

"This season we have a stronger team starting out," said Doctor.  "Our main goals are winning more games, win the CIAA Southern Division and to build a stronger foundation for next year," she said.

Head coach Mark Raley added two international players to the squad, juniors Jana Ajdukovic (Zagreb, Croatia) and Monika Krupa (Szczyrk, Poland). Also expected to contribute heavily to the Golden Bulls' attack is freshman Raven Bandy (Loganville, Georgia).

JCSU will play four total matches over two days in the round-robin event.  After playing host Pfeiffer, the Golden Bulls will take on UVa.-Wise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.  On Saturday, JCSU plays Slippery Rock University at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. match with Salem International.
