JCSU Drops 78-73 Decision at Winston-Salem State

Box Score Winston-Salem, N.C. (Jan. 27, 2016) – Homestanding Winston-Salem State erased a 17 point deficit to earn a 78-73 CIAA Southern Division win over the Johnson C. Smith men's basketball team at a raucous Gaines Center on Wednesday evening.
The loss drops JCSU to 10-9 overall, 5-5 in CIAA play and 3-1 in Southern Division contests. WSSU improves to 9-11, 3-6 CIAA and 3-1 in division games.
After leading by four points at halftime, the Golden Bulls built a 17 point cushion thanks to the second half play of sophomore guard
Robert Davis (West Friendship, Md.). After scoring only four points in the first half, Davis exploded for 18 second half points to pace the Golden Bulls. He finished with a game-high 22 points on an 8-of-14 shooting effort. He also connected for three from long range while dishing two assists.

Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia, Ga.) had 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds while
Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) just missed a double-double with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Winston-Salem State had three players score in double-figures with Rayvon Harris leading the way with 18. Harris also secured 14 rebounds for the Rams. Teammates Keith Armstrong and Terrell Leach each had 16 points with Leach connecting for three from distance.
JCSU will look to regroup on Saturday when it travels to Shaw for a 4:00 p.m. game at Spaulding Gym.
