Box Score JCSU Volleyball Ends Season With 3-0 Loss at Shaw
Raleigh, N.C. (Nov. 14, 2016) – The Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team completed the 2016-17 season, falling to Shaw 3-0 (25-7, 25-14, 25-16) at Spaulding Gym in Raleigh on Monday night.
Shaw knocked down 43 kills on the evening and limited the Golden Bulls to just 20 kills. JCSU was led by
Anteesha Smoots (San Antonio, Tex.), as she tallied seven kills on the night. Junior teammateÂ
Makayla Adams (Michigan City, Ind.) had six kills while
Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) dished out 14 assists.
Defensively,
Georgina Diaz (Lincolnton, N.C.) had 10 digs to close out her freshman season.
Leading the way for the Bears was Kelly Murphy, as she finished with a match-high 10 kills. Murphy also added 10 digs.
JCSU finishes the season 4-18 overall and 2-14 in CIAA play while Shaw improves to 19-7 and 15-1 in league play.
