After another three-pointer from Jones pushed the lead back to 43-33, Catawba would again trim the lead to just six points after a jumper from Serena Brown and a free throw from Marshauna Butler at 1:01 made it 44-36. JCSU then closed the quarter with a
Kendall Adams (Opelika, Ala.) jumper and layup from Rivers to provide the 48-38 halftime score.

The fourth quarter saw the Indians cut the Golden Bull lead to two points at 60-58 and again at 65-63. That is as close as Catawba would get, as JCSU steadily built the lead back to as many as nine points with 2:19 to play. Catawba never threatened again, as JCSU took the 87-77 win.
