Box Score Benedict Blanks JCSU Volleyball, 3-0

Columbia, S.C. (Nov. 3, 2016) – Benedict College limited Johnson C. Smith University to a -.085 hitting percentage and hit for a robust .333 percentage to take a 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-5) nonconference win on Thursday night in Columbia, S.C.

The Golden Bulls managed only 11 kills on the match, with Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) leading the way with three. McNeil also led JCSU with eight assists while freshman Georgina Diaz (Lincolnton, N.C.) had 13 digs.

The homestanding Tigers knocked down 41 kills on the night with Adrionna Washington leading the way with 12. Benedict's Aaliyah Lawson contributed 25 assists while teammates Majda Cisic and V'Aira Harris had 15 and 13 digs, respectively.  Benedict also had eight aces on the match, with Olivia Williams providing four.

The Golden Bulls fall to 5-13 on the season while Benedict improves to 14-12.

JCSU jumps back into CIAA play on Friday, Nov. 4 with a Southern Divisional 6:30 p.m. match at Fayetteville State.
