Box Score JCSU Volleyball Falls at Fayetteville State

Fayetteville, N.C. (Nov. 4, 2016) – Fayetteville State hit for a .403 percentage and stymied the Johnson C. Smith University attack, taking a 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-12) win in CIAA Southern Division volleyball play on Friday night.

JCSU was led by Maya Washington (West Columbia, S.C.) as she tallied three kills on the night. Teammates Makayla Adams (Michigan City, Ind.), Amirah Burnett (Baltimore, Md.), Anteesha Smoots (San Antonio, Tex.) and Desiree Walker (Douglasville, Ga.) all had two kills each. Defensively, Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) had nine digs and had four assists on the night.

FSU got a 12-kill outing from Samira Luis while Raven Ousley-Brown had seven kills. The Broncos also had three players with six kills.

JCSU will return home on Monday, Nov. 7, taking on Winston-Salem State in a 6:00 p.m. match.
