Charlotte, N.C. (Feb. 10, 2016) – The Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's basketball teams will hit the road on Wednesday night as they travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on St. Augustine's in a key CIAA Southern Division matchup.  Tipoff of the women's game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. from Emery Gymnasium with the men's game to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The JCSU men (11-10, 6-6 CIAa, 4-2 Southern), winners of their past two games, including a 97-78 throttling of Fayetteville State in their last game, will look to stay atop the Southern Division standings by taking on the red-hot Falcons, who are riding a four-game winning streak.  Currently, the Golden Bulls are tied with St. Augustine's and Winston-Salem State for the top spot in the division.

In JCSU's last game against the Broncos, senior Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia, Ga.) dropped 24 points while teammate Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) scored 23.  Alandre Davis (Florence, S.C.) continued his late season success by posting his second double-double of the season by posting 16 points and hauling in 11 rebounds for the gold and blue.

The Falcons enter as the hottest team in the league after winning four straight division games.  In their last game, junior Anthony Gaskins nailed a three pointer at the horn to life SAU to a thrilling 58-55 home win over Winston-Salem State.

On the women's side, JCSU (13-10, 6-6 CIAA, 2-4 Southern) is looking to rebound after dropping two straight games.  The Golden Bulls will meet a Lady Falcon squad who is mired in the middle of a 13 game losing streak and currently stands at 0-12 in CIAA play.  Sycora Dorsey and Shanika Harris lead SAU with 15.0 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.

JCSU is led by Ashley Porter's 11.0 points per game.  Porter, a Winston-Salem native, scored 11 points in the last game, a 91-81 loss to Fayetteville State.  Against the Broncos, JCSU was led by
Asha Jordan (Monroe, N.C.) and A'Diyah Ussery (Shelby, N.C.), as Jordan connected for 24 points while Ussery had 13 in the loss.
