JCSU Women's Tennis Comes Up Short Against Belmont Abbey

Belmont, N.C. (Feb. 4, 2016) – The visiting Johnson C. Smith women's team dropped a 9-0 decision to Belmont Abbey Thursday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center. JCSU falls to 0-3 on the season while Belmont Abbey improves to 1-1 on the year.

The Crusaders posted straight sets victories in five of six singles matches and won all three doubles matches convincingly.Teagan McNamara and Kiersten Cox posted an 8-0 win at the doubles top flight over Kaylin Roman (Atlanta, Ga.) and Michaela Colvin (Fayetteville, N.C.).  At No. 2, Khadijah Battle (Atlanta, Ga.) and Jasmine Riddick (Atlanta, Ga.) fell by an 8-2 count while Victoria Ogundipe (Jonesboro, Ga.) and Alex Barber (Laurel, Md.) also fell by an 8-2 count.
