JCSU Women's Tennis Downs Livingstone 8-1

Charlotte, N.C. (April 10, 2016) – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team took five of six singles matches and won both contested doubles matches to down visiting Livingstone 8-1 in CIAA Southern Divisional play on Sunday afternoon at the Coleman-Cuthbertson Tennis Courts.

The Golden Bulls got wins at the Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 matches by only losing three games combined. 
Victoria Ogundipe (Jonesboro, Ga.) and Kaylin Roman (Atlanta, Ga.) each swept their matches, 6-0, 6-0. 
Jasmine Riddick (Atlanta, Ga.) only lost one game at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1, while Michaela Colvin (Fayetteville, N.C.) won her match at No. 4 by a 6-1, 6-1 final.

In doubles, JCSU swept the No. 1 and No. 2 matches.  Colvin and Roman teamed for a 9-8 win while senior Khadijah Battle (Atlanta, Ga.) and Riddick swept their match by an 8-0 count.

The win improves JCSU to 6-14 overall and 6-4 in CIAA play.
