Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2016) – Visiting Shaw knocked down 42 kills while hitting a .361 percentage on their way to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-18) win over Johnson C. Smith University in a CIAA volleyball match at Brayboy Gym on Monday evening.
Shaw's Kelly Murphy had 15 kills and teammate Keveesha Wattley had 14 in the win while JCSU got a game-high six kills from
Anteesha Smoots (San Antonio, Tex.).
Setter Michelle Olmeda-Gonzalez dished out 40 kills in the win while JCSU'sÂ
Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) managed 12 assists. Defensively, JCSU's
Georgina Diaz (Lincolnton, N.C.) had 11 digs.
Makayla Adams (Michigan City, Ind.) had three blocks to lead the Golden Bulls.
The loss drops JCSU to 2-7 overall, 1-4 in CIAA play and 0-2 in the Southern Division while Shaw improves to 7-5, 5-0 in league play and 2-0 in Southern Division play.
