JCSU Women's Tennis Readies for CIAA Tournament
Charlotte N.C. (April 20, 2017) – The Johnson C. Smith University women's team heads to Bowie, Md. to take part in the 2017 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship from April 20-22 hosted by Bowie State University.
The Golden Bulls earned the No. 5 seed in this year's tournament after finishing 4-4 in Southern Division play and 6-6 in league matches. JCSU will take on longtime foe in fourth-seeded Winston-Salem State.
In other quarterfinal matches, top-seeded Chowan will take on No. 8 Elizabeth City State, No.3 Virginia State will play rival and No. 6 seeded Virginia Union and No. 2 Shaw will face No. 7 Fayetteville State.
Semifinal matches will take place on Friday, April 21 with the championship match to be contested on Saturday, April 22.
Admission is free and is open to the public.
