JCSU Earns Two Provisional Qualifying Marks at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational
Clemson, S.C. (Jan. 29, 2018)— The Johnson C. Smith University indoor track and field teams earned two NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University.
JCSU's
Kianje Pollard (Penns Grove, N.J.) registered a 24.73 in the 200m to finish 15
th overall. That time is the second-fastest time recorded in the CIAA this season and is a provisional qualifying mark.
On the men's side,
Kyle Robinson (Levelland, Tex.) provisionally qualified in the 60m hurdles, posting an 8.24 in the preliminaries of the event.
Other top performers for the Golden Bulls includes
Sah-Jay Stevens in the shot put, as she registered a throw of 12.73m, finishing in ninth place overall.Â
Ramoya Grandison had a jump of 4.70m in the long jump finishing first in her flight and 17
th overall.
The JCSU 4x400 relay team of Pollard,
Kayla Miller,
Le'Anna Combo and
Delecia McDuffie clocked a 4:17.56, winning their section and finishing in 17
th overall.
For the JCSU men,
Dionte Saunders was the top JCSU performer in the 60m, finishing with a 7.04.
Garnett Jackson completed the 200m with a 22.57 to win his section and placing 26
th overall.
Dionysius Segers also had a great meet, winning his section of the 200m with a 22.93
LaMarion Mack ran an 8.99 in the 60m hurdles, winning his section and finishing 18
th.
The 4x400 team of Robinson, Jackson,
Kelvin Simon and
Timor Barrett won their section and finished 9
th with a 3:16.97.
