The 126th anniversary of the playing of the first collegiate football game between HBCUs proved a big disappointment for Johnson C. Smith as the Golden Bulls dropped a 20-9 decision to Livingstone Saturday afternoon inside the Irwin Belk Complex.

Livingstone jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter on a 32-yard pass from Miles Hayes to Justin Ruffin followed by a 37-yard field goal by Antoine Akundu just over five minutes later.

In the second period, Livingstone extended its lead to 17-2 on a 31-yard run by Anthony Faraimo giving LC a 15 point lead at halftime.

Midway through the third quarter, JCSU scored its only touchdown of the day when Antonio Wallace connected with Braxton Gambrell for 57 yards to cut livingstone's lead to 17-9.

JCSU was held scoreless for the remainder of the game with Akendu's 29-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter providing the final margin of victory, 20-9
