JCSU Women's Tennis Dispatches Fayetteville State, 9-0
Charlotte, N.C. (April 12, 2018) – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team completed CIAA play on Thursday afternoon by dispatching the visiting Fayetteville State Broncos by a 9-0 score.
The Golden Bulls started the match with three wins in the doubles matches, only dropping one game.
In the singles competition, JCSU also won all six matches in straight sets, with
Cierra Turner clinching the win for the Golden Bulls at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over FSU's Amber Gladden.
At No. 1 freshman
Halle Parker completed a perfect 10-0 CIAA season by taking down Staisha Cain 6-4, 6-1. Parker currently stands at 15-6 overall.
As a team, JCSU improves to 13-9 overall, 10-2 in CIAA play and 6-2 in Southern Division play. The loss drops the Broncos to 3-9 overall, 3-7 in league play ad 1-6 in divisional action.
