Four JCSU starters score in double figures in win over Limestone, 98-78

Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C., – Cayse Minor scored 18 points in the Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team 98-78 victory over Limestone at Brayboy on Saturday afternoon. The win marks the third overall for the Golden Bulls as they improve to 2-1 overall. The loss dropped the Saints to 0-2 on the year.
 
Minor recorded three rebounds and one steals to go along with his game-high 18 points. Xaiver Jones posted his third double figure of the year with 15 points, game high 10 rebounds, and four assists.
 
Smith shot 55.5 percent from the field, including 80.0 percent from the charity stripe and 53.6 percent from long distance.
 
The first half of the game started with the Golden Bulls taking a 7-3  lead over the Saints after the first five minutes of action. Smith held onto the lead until a layup from Rudy Bibb-Boyd tied the game at nine all. JCSU went on a 14-0 run to go up 23-9 in the first half. Smith largest lead was 24 with less than 4:47 in half.


Both teams went into the locker room as JCSU led 48-27.
 
In the second half, Smith led by 31 points, Limestone cut the Golden Bulls lead to 13 with 2:38 left in regulation. From there, Smith tallied five consecutive free throws to squeeze out the 98-78 win.
 
Bibb-boyd led the way for Limestone with 20 points and seven assists, Jordan Willis chipped in 13 points. 

Augustine Aminu and Aaron Adair chipped in 13 and 12 points on the night.
