Golden Bulls host Virginia State in conference tilt Thursday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team will host Virginia State University on Thursday, Nov. 21 in a conference tilt inside the historic Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Golden Bulls are coming off a 98-78 win at home against Limestone College. In the win, the Golden Bulls was led by senior Cayse Minor who scored 18 points and grabbed three rebounds.

The Golden Bulls are 2-1 in Brayboy so far on the season and hold an overall record of 2-1 on the year.

In three games, Smith averages 87.9 points per game, including 53.4 percent from the floor and 74.5 from the charity stripe. The Golden Bulls are responsible for 36.4 percent from the 3-point line while dishing out 18.3 assist a game.

VSU sports a 3-2 record coming into Thursday's game. Virginia State University men's basketball team loss to the Bulldogs of Barton College with a final score of 88-78.

Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald and Andrew Corum controlled the Trojans scoring with 18 and 16 points respectively. William Vedder secured his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds against the Bulldogs.
