JCSU Football To Visit Benedict on Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After suffering its first loss of the season a week ago, Johnson C. Smith University football team will look for its first win on Saturday, Sept. 14 against SIAC opponent Benedict College. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at the Charles W. Johnson Stadium in Columbia, S.C.

JCSU fell to 0-1 on the season after suffering a 42-6 home loss to Wingate last week. Benedict enters the game at 0-1 after a 35-21 road loss to Fayetteville State University on Sept. 7.

This will be the 13th football meeting between JCSU and Benedict, with Smith leading the series 7-4-1.

Saturday's contest will mark the second meeting between the two head coaches, Kermit Blount of Johnson C. Smith and Mike White of Benedict.
