Golden Bulls Cruise to a 3-0 victory over St. Aug’s

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Elyse Bonnett and Brianne Davis hauled in a match-high five kills to help lead the Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-20, 25-14) over Saint Augustine's University in a CIAA Southern division matchup, in Brayboy Gym Thursday night.

Bonnett also handed out a match-high of seven assists and sophomore Cydney Calhoun registered in six assists.

After five ties in the second set, Smith took control on a 5-1 spurt that gave the Golden Bulls the (18-15) lead they would not relent to take the set 25-20.

Smith will return to action Monday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. to take on Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C.
