Volleyball suffers 3-2 loss at Claflin

Orangeburg, SC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball fell to the Panthers of Claflin University with a 3-2 loss on Thursday evening.
 
The Golden Bulls took the first set 26-24 before falling 25-10 in set two and three with the score 25-20. JCSU staged their comeback in the match with a 25-16 win in set four but came up short 15-5 in the final fifth set.

The setback drops the Golden Bulls to 3-11 overall, 3-7 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference (CIAA) and 0-5 within the division. Claflin improves to 10-8 overall, 7-4 in the league and 4-1 in the Southern Division.
Daivez Bell tallied 14 kills on the night. Jad Berry dished out 32 assists, while Jeneene Lewis collected 28 digs.
 
JCSU will return to action on Monday, Oct. 25 as they host Livingstone College. First serve is at 6:00 p.m.
