Ominu scores 29 as JCSU defeats Bluefield State, 98-94

CHARLOTTE - Augustine Ominu scored 29 points to lead Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball to a 98-94 victory against Bluefield State College on Saturday afternoon inside Brayboy Gymnasium. The Golden Bulls improve to 3-4 on the season while the Bluefield State drop to 1-5 overall.
 
The Golden Bulls were able to weather a late attack from the BSC and ultimately took control down the stretch.

Three other players recorded double-figure scoring for Johnson C. Smith, including Chaz Gwyn who netted 20 points, Stephen Sherrill dropped 16 on the night while Xaiver Jones scored a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds.
 
JCSU will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 14 as they start CIAA play at Lincoln (Pa.) and followed by Bowie State. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m., for both games.
