CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team battled Lander University on Saturday in the Lander University Classic, but the Golden Bulls fell to host, 93-64.
Xavier Jones lead JCSU with a game high of 24 points, while grabbing five boards.
Augustine Ominu chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds on the night.
The Golden Bulls (2-5) shot 43-percent (23-53) from the floor, connecting just 11-of-21 from the three-point line while hitting 7-of-10 from the foul line on the afternoon.
JCSU will return to action Saturday, Dec. 11 hosting Bluefield State inside Brayboy Gym.
