Ciara Harris scored a team-best 20 points but the Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team fell to Virginia State University, 87-82 in overtime, in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross division contest Monday afternoon evening in Brayboy Gymnasium.

Tracey Kemp added 19 points and two rebounds while
Aubriana Bonner grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and Harris tallied eight boards for JCSU.
The Golden Bulls (5-6, 0-3 CIAA) would lead by 11 points in the first half before VSU trimmed at the deficit and was able to cut the Golden Bulls lead to 14 points before heading in the fourth quarter. The Trojans (8-7, 4-2 CIAA) outscored JCSU 29-15 in the fourth quarter.Â
The Trojans roared back late in the fourth and trimmed the deficit from then on was 11 points, at 69-58 with 5:11 left in the game. With two seconds left in regulation, Kaaliyah Williams of VSU drained a deep three to tie the game 74 all to send the game in overtime.
