CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team earned its eighth win on the season with a 67-57 victory over Livingstone College, Sunday afternoon.
The victory improves JCSU to 8-6 overall 3-4 in the CIAA and leading the division at 3-0, while Livingstone dropped to 3-12, 2-5 and 0-3 in the division on the year.
Ciara Harris led the Golden Bulls with 19 points and six rebounds while
Aubriana Bonner netted 16 points.
Shaniya Jones rounded out the Golden Bulls double-figure scoring with 15 points and three rebounds.
The contest featured the Golden Bulls largest lead of 22 points and 24 points in the paint.
JCSU connected on 40 percent (25-57) from the field with a 38.5 percent (5-13) night from behind the arc. The Golden Bull also hit on 76 percent (16-21) of their free throws.
JCSU will return to action on Monday, Jan. 24 as they host the Vikings of Elizabeth City State in a makeup CIAA game. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
