CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team earned its 10th win on the season with a 76-59 victory over Claflin University, Saturday afternoon.
The victory improves JCSU to 10-6 overall 5-4 in the CIAA and leading the division at 5-0, while Claflin dropped to 4-12, 3-7 and 1-3 in the division on the year.
Ciara Harris led the Golden Bulls with 17 points and four rebounds while
Aubriana Bonner and
Mahley Holit each scored 11 points. Bonner grabbed nine rebounds on the night.
The contest featured the Golden Bulls largest lead of 20 points and 26 points in the paint.
JCSU connected on 40 percent (26-64) from the field with a 40 percent (8-20) night from behind the arc. The Golden Bulls also hit on 84 percent (16-19) of their free throws.
JCSU will hit the road to face the Panthers of Virginia Union University, in Richmond, VA.
