Golden Bulls Host Shaw BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME

CHARLOTTE - After three very close and intense losses, Maurice Flowers and the Golden Bulls scored 35 unanswered points to earn their first win of the season as JCSU put up 411 yards of total offense and 30 first downs en route to a season-high 49-14 victory at home in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) action, against Elizabeth City State.

JCSU football team hosts division foe Shaw University Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Irwin Belk Complex. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

Saturday's game is the Golden Bulls Breast Cancer Awareness Game. All fans are encouraged to wear pink and support the fight against breast cancer. The game will be broadcast live on the JCSU Golden Bulls Sports Network, live
statistics will also be offered.

Shaw has won the last three contests in the series and six of the last eight overall. 

This will be the 62nd meeting between Shaw and Johnson C. Smith. JCSU leads the all-time series over the Bears 32-27-2 overall but Shaw won the last meeting with a 20-14 win in Raleigh, N.C. last season. Since 2007, Shaw has won 10 of the last 14 meetings against JCSU. 

In the Southern Division race the Golden Bulls are 1-3 overall and 1-2 in CIAA action. Shaw currently stands in second (2-3, 2-1) while JCSU is third.
