CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell short against the Falcons of Saint Augustine's University Falcons, 71-66, Wednesday night inside historic Brayboy Gym.
Javon Floyd led the offensive charge, scoring 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.
Behind Floyd's' performance, JCSU (5-15, 2-10, 2-5) shot 23-of-50 for 46.9-percent from the floor, 14-of-21 from the free throw line (66.3-percent) and 6-of-14 (42-percent) from the 3-point line.
Four other players joined Jones in double figures.
Stephen Sherrill and
Augustine Ominu each recording 12 points, while Michael Roberson and Todd Johnson, II each scored 11 points.
JCSU will have a quick turnaround on Saturday as they host the Blue Bears of Livingstone College that features a 4:00 p.m., tip and wrap up the 2022 home season.
