Harris Scores 21 points as JCSU defeats St. Aug's 93-76

CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team earned its 13th win of the season with a 93-76 victory over southern division foe Saint Augustine's University, Wednesday evening inside Brayboy Gym.
 
The victory improves JCSU to 6-2 in the division and 8-4 in the conference, while Saint Aug's dropped to 7-14, 1-10 and 3-4 in the division.
 
Ciara Harris led the Golden Bulls with 21 points and six rebounds while Aubriana Bonner netted 14 points. Randi Neal scored a career high of 11 and Shaniya Jones and Mahley Holit  rounded out the Golden Bulls double-figure scoring with 10 points.
 
The contest featured the Golden Bulls largest lead of 25 as JCSU held a 35-23 edge on the boards and 38 points in the paint.
 
JCSU connected on 56 percent (37-65) from the field with a 44.3 percent (8-18) night from behind the arc. The Golden Bull also hit on 68 percent (11-16) of their free throws. St. Aug's shot 56.3 percent (30-57) from the floor with a 47.0 percent effort (8-17) from three-point range for the game, in addition to its 80.3 percent (8-10) from the charity stripe.
