Women's tennis falls To Catawba, 5-2

CHARLOTTE  – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team continued non-conference action Sunday with a 5-2 loss versus Catawba College.
 
The Golden Bulls opened the match by dropping three doubles matches to give the Indians the doubles point. JCSU won two out of the six singles matches, with Shay'Tonya Missick falling at the No. 1 singles 6-1, 2-6 and 10-8.
 
Sanaa Hewitt won her singles match winning, 6-2, 6-2 while Cierra Turner won by default.
 
JCSU, now 2-5 returns to action for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up Saturday - Sunday, Mar. 19-20, hosted by Bowie State University.
