Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the CIAA tournament after defeating Virginia State University in quarterfinal action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Golden Bulls defeated the Trojans with a final score of 4-0.
 
The Golden Bulls made quick work of the Trojans with 6-1 victories on two courts during the doubles portion of the match.
 
Before any tennis was played during the singles portion of the match, Kyndall Ragins and Sanaa Hewitt each won by default at the No. 2 and No. 6 courts. 

In the singles portion of the match, Cierra Turner won in straight sets 6-0, over her opponents at the No. 5 courts.
 
Shay'Tonya Missick won 6-1 on the No. 1 court, while Taylor Brooks and Chengeto Moyana took the No. 3 and No. 4 courts.

JCSU will take on Bowie State University in the semifinals round on Friday, April 29 at the VSU Tennis Courts located in Ettrick, Virginia. The match time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Both the semifinal and championship rounds will be hosted at the VSU Tennis Complex on the campus of Virginia State University. The tournament is free and open to the public
