NEW ORLEANS – Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the season.
Men's Assistant Coach of the Year
ATLANTIC REGION – Patrick Heckroth – Johnson C. Smith
Heckroth, in his first year as assistant coach at Johnson C. Smith, coached the Golden Bulls sprint/hurdle group to one All-American honor and 10 All-Region awards. His athletes scored 62 of the team's 106 points at the CIAA Championships in claiming top marks in five events. Johnson C. Smith rated No. 1 in the Atlantic Region #EventSquad Rankings in the 100 and 200 meters, plus No. 2 in the 400.
