Lincoln (Pa.) gets ONE on the Golden Bulls, JCSU falls 29-28

CHARLOTTE - A 19-yard field goal by Jo Price lifted the Lions of Lincoln (Pa.) over the Golden Bulls 29-28 inside Irwin Belk Complex on Saturday afternoon. 
The Golden Bulls fall to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the CIAA, while LU improves to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in the league. 

JCSU struck first when Tyrell Jackson found Tim Newman, Jr., for a 16-yard touchdown in the first quarter but the Lions quickly responded with a score of its own thanks to 10-yard run from Isaiah Freeman to even the score at 6-all both PAT's were good. 

Both teams traded scores until LU led 19-14 at halftime. 

Moving on to the fourth quarter, JCSU scored 14 points in the final stanza to take a 28-26 lead with less than 1:30 on the clock. The Lions marched 72 yards for the 19-yard field goal as time expired. 

Jackson threw for 211 yards on 17-of-29 passes and a touchdown while Jaron Hull led the receiving unit with seven catches for 120 yards.  Benari Black led the defensive squad with 11 tackles.  

JCSU will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross-division contest versus Elizabeth City State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Charlotte, N.C
