CHARLOTTE – The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team snapped a six game losing streak by defeating the trojans of Virginia State University 70-54 inside the VSU Multipurpose Center on Tuesday night.
The win gives JCSU their first CIAA victory, The Golden Bulls are 5-9 and 1-4 on the season. VSU drops to 7-8 and 3-3 in CIAA play.
JCSU was led by
Najah Lane and Le'Zarea Bownes each scored 14 points.
India Howard grabbed 13 rebounds on the night.
The Golden Bulls will return to action on Saturday, January 14 to take on the Broncos of Fayetteville State. The CIAA matchup is set for 3:00 p.m. inside Felton J. Capel Arena.
