Golden Bulls Compete in the COROS Collegiate Challenge

CHARLOTTE -  The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls completed the COROS Collegiate Challenge in Winston-Salem, N.C. where they achieved personal bests and top-five finishes in the meet over the weekend.

Nyasia Weatherly finished third overall in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.83. In the 200-meter dash, two Golden Bulls finished in the top-10. Cyan Peoples in fourth with a time of 26.77and Markayla Taylor finished eighth with a time of 27.25.
 
Layla Simpson placed third with a time of 9.24 in the 60-meter-hurdles. Aria Goode finished seventh with a time of 9.38. Goode placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.89

On the men' side Terry Towah finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a final time of 51.71. Zephaniah Cox, Jr. finished with the fourth-fastest time of the day, coming across the line in 6.92. 

 

In the field events, JaQuan Wilkes and Mikal Dill were able to give the Golden Bulls a top-five finish in the long jump and triple jump, placing first with a final mark of 7.37m in the long jump and 14.09 in the triple jump.  Wilkes is now ranked ninth on the NCAA indoor rankings.  Isaiah Harris placed second with a mark of 13.96 in the triple.
