CHARLOTTE – Brianna Hudgins led the Johnson C. Smith University women's bowling team to a first place tie at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Divisional (CIAA Event II) bowling competition on Jan. 27-29 at the OBX Bowling Center Lanes in Elizabeth City, N.C.
As a team, JCSU (19-10) completed the weekend with a 10-2 overall record, claiming five team wins and three Baker wins to go along with 8,768 total pin falls behind Fayetteville State who went 10-2 with a total of 9,896 pins.
The five team wins came on day one when the Golden Bulls took a 630-482 win over Livingstone and continue wins with Fayetteville State 857-833, and Shaw twice 712-632, 770-654. Day two, JCSU fell to FSU twice 867-760, 861-782 but claimed victory against SU (735-649) and LC (706-571).
In the Baker games, JCSU earned victories against Fayetteville State (764-732) and Shaw (699-684) and Livingstone 690-493.
