Volleyball falls to Shaw, 3-0

RALEIGH, NC – The Johnson C.  Smith University volleyball team fell to the Bears of Shaw University 3-0, (25-15, 25-17, 25-11) on Wednesday night inside historic C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls fell to 4-10 overall and 2-6 in the CIAA, while the victory improved Shaw's record to 20-4 overall and 11-0 in CIAA play.

Camri Goodwin had nine kills and 10 digs and Yasmine Cannon had five kills and 11 assists on the night. On the defensive end, Monique Reis chipped 12 digs.

Up next, the Golden Bulls will head to Elizabeth City, N.C., this weekend for the CIAA Roundup 2 at Elizabeth City State. They will play Elizabeth City State at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, and close out the weekend with Virginia State at 12 p.m. on and Lincoln (Pa.) at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15.
