JCSU Football falls 14-7, to Fayetteville State

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. |   Slow start for the Golden Bulls in the first half, but the Broncos of Fayetteville State upheld Johnson C. Smith University by winning, 14-7, late Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Golden Bulls are two games behind in the division.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Broncos struck first as Caden Davis ran in for seventeen yards to give the Broncos a lead 7-0 with 2:56 in the first quarter.
  • In the second, Davis again scampered in from 21-yards out to give the Broncos the 14-0 lead.
  • Jamere Cherry found Reggie Bryant from 10-yards out, to cut into the Bronco lead, 14-7.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES
  • Jamere Cherry completed 8 of 17 passes for 93-yards and one touchdown.
  • Brevin Caldwell caught six passes for 90-yards and one touchdown.
  • Cherry led all rushing with 69-yards on 18 carries.
  • Eighty yards was the Golden Bulls longest play of the year.
