JCSU Cross Country Teams ready to run

CHARLOTTE – The Johnson C Smith University men's and women's cross-country teams will compete at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge also known as the 2023 HBCU Challenge in conjunction with the GAXC Festival Friday, Oct. 6 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

The women's 5K race is set to begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men's 8K race at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Both the Golden Bulls men's and women's cross-country teams will look improve on their previous performances at the Pfeiffer University Invite in September.

Following this weekend's competition, JCSU will travel to Salisbury, North Carolina to compete in the Livingstone College Invite on Friday, Oct. 13.

About the GAXC Festival
The GAXC Festival started in 1999 and was purchased by the NSAF in 2002, and has been hosted at WakeMed Soccer Park since 2009. In 2019 there was 11 boys' and girls' varsity and junior varsity 5,000m races, highlighted by the Nike Race of Champions events -- plus the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge men's 8k and women's 5k championship races and college men's 8k and women's 5K.
