JCSU falls to to Claflin, 3-2 on Thursday

Charlotte, NC | The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team lead two sets to none but fell to the Panthers of Claflin University in three straight set in a CIAA Southern Division showdown (25-16, 25-18, 15-25, 22-25 and 9-15) on Thursday night inside Brayboy Gym. 

Game Notes

» Camri Goodwin had a match-high 19 kills as well as three Aces in the match.

» JCSU won sets one and two until Claflin took three, four and five. Claflin went on an 8-1 run to win the final set, 15-9.
» JCSU received a match-high 31 digs from Monique Reid.
» JCSU attackers were helped by a match-high 31 assists from Yasmine Cannon.

JCSU will regroup and host the Rams of Winston-Salem State University on Monday Oct. 9. The first volley is set for 6 p.m.
