JCSU's Three Game Win Streak Snapped by Shaw, 21-10

CHARLOTTE |   Shaw University scored 21 unanswered points and snapped Johnson C. Smith University three game win streak, as the Golden Bulls falls to the Bears 21-10 inside Durham County Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED  
  • The Golden Bulls capped a five-yard touchdown pass from Robert Adams to Reggie Bryant to give the Golden Bulls a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. 
  • Alejandro Garcia tacked on three more points to extend the JCSU lead 10-0 into halftime. 
  • Shaw connected on a 32-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, 10-7. 
  • On the kickoff the Golden Bulls fumbled which was recovered by Shaw.  
  • Shaw connected on a 51-yard touchdown pass to take a 14-10 lead. 
  • Shaw took advantage of the interception by QB Robert Adams and scored from one yard out to lead and take the 21-10 win. 
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES  
  • Robert Adams completed 8 of 24 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown. 
  • Reggie Bryant caught two passes for 12 yards and one touchdown. 
  • Tim Newman, Jr. rushed for 51 yards on 13 carries. 
  • Golden Bulls didn't score in the last two quarters. 
  • For the first time in six games the Golden Bulls didn't manage over 100 yards in rushing or passing.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES  
  • Darryl Taybron recorded a game high of 10 tackles.
