Harris scores 18, but JCSU falls to Clark Atlanta, 63-58

ATLANTA - Ciara Harris scored a game-high 18 points, but the Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team fell to Clark Atlanta University, 63-58, Friday afternoon in the CIAA-SIAC Challenge hosted by Clark Atlanta University.

The Golden Bulls (0-2) was down at the and to start the second half, JCSU outscored Clark (3-0) 17-8 in the third quarter. The Golden Bulls managed to claw their way back, but the Panthers held on for the win.

Harris netted a game high 18 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field. Harris went 2 of 3 from behind the arc and went 8 for 10 from the line. Najah Lane added 16 points and finished with two rebounds. Kelis Carmon chipped in with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

For the contest, JCSU shot just 34 percent from the floor and hit 4-of-11 from behind the arc. At the charity stripe, the Golden Bulls shot 75 percent shooting (24-of-32).

CAU hit 34 percent from the field led by Corriana Evans and Trinity Jones who each finished with 12 points. Evans has a game high of eight nine rebounds.

The Golden Bulls will return to action Saturday, Nov. 18 as face the Rams of Albany State University. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
