Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls football team fell to Fort Valley State 23-10, in the Inaugural Florida Beach Bowl on Wednesday evening at the DRV PNK Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Fort Valley ran in from two yards out in the first quarter leading 7-0. Then a safety for the Wildcats increased the lead 9-0.
Right before halftime, FVSU scored from nine yards out, leading 16-0.
In the third quarter, the Golden Bulls made a 30-yard field goal with 4:37 left to trim FVSU's lead to 16-3.
Fort Valley connected on an 84-yard touchdown pass to lead 23-3.
Jacob Newman scampered in a six-yard run to cut into the Wildcats lead, 23-10
Both teams went scoreless in the fourth quarter.
