LINCOLN, Pa. - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell short against the Lions of Lincoln, Pa., 69-62, in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross division contest Thursday night inside Manuel Rivero Hall.

Avery Huggins led the offensive charge, scoring 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go along with five rebounds.

Behind Huggins' performance, JCSU (5-3, 0-1) shot 23-of-58 for 39.9-percent from the floor, 12-of-19 from the free throw line (63.3-percent) and 4-of-16 (25-percent) from the 3-point line.Â
One other player joined Huggins in double figures.
Jeremee Bryant had a good night, recording 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting.

Up next, the Golden Bulls will travel to Richmond to face the Panthers of Virginia Union on Saturday, Dec. 16 inside Barco Stevens Hall. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
