Golden Bulls heartbreaking loss with .8 seconds, falling 74-72 to Claflin

Box Score CHARLOTTE – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell in the final seconds of regulation to the Panthers of Claflin University 74-72, Saturday afternoon in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division action.  
  
The top scorers of the evening featured Avery Huggins with 27 points, four rebounds and three steals while Ashton Sherrell scored a career high 22 points. 

JCSU held a halftime lead of 36-35, however CU matched JCSU with plus three in the second to secure the win at home.  

JCSU drops to 10-8 overall and 5-6 in the CIAA. CU now improves to 10-6 overall and 7-2 in the CIAA.   

JCSU will return to action on Tuesday as they host the Bears of Shaw University, Jan. 30. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
