CHARLOTTE –The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team went scoreless for seven minutes in the second half and fell short to Lincoln (Pa.) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Cross Division contest on Monday afternoon, inside Brayboy Gym.
The loss dips the Golden Bulls (5-4, 1-1 CIAA,) while the Lions improve to 5-5 and 2-0 in the league.
The Golden Bulls led 42-32 at the half.
Lincoln went on a 11- 1 run to tie the game at 43 all. The Lions, then went on a 21-1 run and held the Golden Bulls scoreless for almost seven minutes into the second half leading, 53-43.
JCSU finished the game shooting 51.3-percent (20-39) from the field and 7-of-15 from long distance (46.3-percent).
The Golden Bulls were led by Ashton Sherrill who finished with 26 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field.
Javon Anderson recorded 10 points and
Christopher Ealy grabbed eight rebounds on the afternoon.
LU had three players in double figures. Ethan Garita scored 21 points, while teammates, Peter Sorber and Reggie Hudson scored 19 and 10 respectively.
The Golden Bulls will face Bowie State University before heading into Christmas break on Saturday, Dec. 21, inside Brayboy Gym. Tip- off is set for 2:00 p.m.
