Five Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls finished in double-figure scoring to collect their fourth win of the season, as the Golden Bulls defeated visiting Bluefield State 84-75 Tuesday evening in a non-conference matchup.
With the win, the Gold and Blue improves to 4-2 overall on the season.
Ashton Sherrell finished with 26 points and nine rebounds
Christopher Ealy chipped in 16 and teammates
Javon Anderson and
Orlando Hudson had 12 each.
Asa White finished with 11 points. Ealy had a team high of eight rebounds.
The Golden Bulls finished the night shooting 46 percent from the floor while just connecting on 8-21 shots from beyond the arc. JCSU also finished 20-29 from the charity stripe. JCSU limited Bluefield State to just 51% shooting from including just 25% from three-point range.
JCSU will return to the hardwood to take on Johnson and Wales of Charlotte on Saturday, December 7. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. inside historic Brayboy Gymnasium.
