CHARLOTTE __ The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls 2024 football schedule opens the season in the Boeing Red Tails Classic against Tuskegee University announced by third year head coach

The season begins for the Golden Bulls as they take on the Tigers of Tuskegee University out of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), as the Golden Bulls and Tigers will meet in the fourth annual Boeing Red Tails Classic inside of the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 1. This game will be televised on ESPN.
The two programs last met Sept. 8, 2012, in Atlanta, Ga., in the Inner-City Classic with Tuskegee winning 35-17.
The Red Tails Classic, which is sponsored by Boeing is a college football event showcasing Historically Black Colleges and Universities – in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen who fought in World War II. It will be among many football games from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) that will broadcast across ESPN's network.

JCSU is coming off a 7-4 record and a 6-2 mark in the CIAA. The Golden Bulls finished the season in the inaugural Florida Beach Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Dec. 13, as they fell to Fort Valley State 23-10.
With the opening of Week "0" at a neutral site the Golden Bulls football schedule features four home games and five on the road for the season.
The Golden Bulls will follow up their opener with another SIAC opponent Morehouse College on Sept. 7, in Atlanta, Ga. JCSU will have a bye week before the start conference play.
The Golden Bulls will open up league play at home taking on the Panthers of Virginia Union on Sept. 21 in Charlotte, N.C., followed by another CIAA northern division contest on Sept. 28 for a bout with Big Blue of Bluefield State in Bluefield, West Virginia. The Gold and Blue will close out the northern division schedule hosting Virginia State on Oct. 5 at the Irwin Belk Complex.
The Golden Bulls will begin CIAA southern division play and travel to Durham, N.C., to face the Falcons of Saint Augustine's, on Oct. 12. JCSU returns home to host Shaw for the 2024 Homecoming game on Oct. 19. The Golden Bulls who snapped a 21-game losing streak to the Rams of Winston-Salem State will visit them on Oct. 26.
The month of November the Golden Bulls host the Broncos of Fayetteville State on Nov. 2. The regular season will then concludes with the annual Commemorative Classic game against rival Livingstone College in Salisbury on Nov. 9.
The CIAA Football Championship game will be held on November 16.
