WBB wins in OT over Winston-Salem St., 69-65

CHARLOTTE – Ashlei Kirven scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading four Golden Bulls in double figures to lead Johnson C. Smith to a 69-65 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association basketball win over Winston-Salem St., Tuesday night.
Four players scored in double figures for the Golden Bulls led by Kirven. Kelis Carmon charted 13 points while make five of five free throws, following by Najah Lane with 11 points, and Ciara Harris rounded out the team 11 points.

The Golden Bulls lead as many as 11 points going into the third quarter. 

The Rams went on a 14-3 run to tie the game at 42 all and outscored the Rams 17-8 in the third quarter. 

JCSU outrebounded the Rams 32-26. The Rams had 29 bench points to the Golden Bulls six.

JCSU will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 when the Golden Bulls travels to Raleigh, N.C. in a CIAA Southern Division contest scheduled for 2 p.m. in Spaulding Gymnasium
