599 and counting for Joyner, as the Golden Bulls defeated Livingstone 93-88

CHARLOTTE - Four Golden Bulls finished in double-figure scoring to collect their 13th win of the season, and giving Coach Stephen Joyner, Sr., his 599 career win, as the Golden Bulls defeated rival Livingstone College, 93-88, inside Brayboy Gym on Wednesday evening in a pivotal CIAA southern division contest.

With the win, the Gold and Blue improves to 13-11 overall on the season, 8-9 in league play and 4-7 in the division.

Ashton Sherrell scored a career high of 26 points and seven rebounds.  Avery Huggins and Javon Anderson followed with 21 points and teammate Jamauri Bryant dropped 10 points.

Coach Joyner is one game away from 600 wins in his career.

The Golden Bulls finished the night shooting 51% from the floor while just connecting on 3-16 shots from beyond the arc. JCSU also finished 20-30 from the charity stripe. JCSU limited Livingstone to just 52% shooting from including just 57% from three-point range.  The Golden Bulls out rebounded the Blue Bears 35-29.

JCSU will finish the regular season and honor three senior managers on Saturday, February 24, as they host the Panthers of Claflin University. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
